We pick ten of our favourite masculine bedrooms from around the web
Too often it can be a woman's world when it comes to decorating a bedroom. Soft fabrics and fluffy pillows, it's easy to feel like your man points are draining by the second. That shouldn't have to be the case, men deserve to enjoy bedtime just as much as their female counterparts. At Silksleep, we think everyone deserves the perfect night's rest, here's a few pointers on how to make your bedroom less man-cave, more sophisticated gentleman's chamber.
Don't be scared of using colour
If you think of a typical 'masculine' style bedroom, it's probably a lot of dark coloured fabrics and leather. While there is nothing wrong with those, we have also included some rooms in the gallery which incorporate brighter, more eye-catching colours into a room without it detracting from the manly look you were going for. Earthy colours seem to be a common theme, but introducing bold colours such as reds, blues or greens can add a bit more personality. If you're looking to purchase one of our silk duvet covers (to cover one of our silk duvets, of course!), most of the colours would work well, especially the black, chocolate and blue.
Mix and match furniture styles
There are two main styles to go for when decorating a masculine bedroom. The first makes use of rich woods and natural materials, harking back to the primal hunter gatherer status. On the opposite end of the spectrum, a super high-tech style can work really well in a masculine bedroom. Lucite or high-gloss furniture, metalwork and futuristic light fittings can fit in nicely against more traditional features. Mix these up freely for a unique and personalised look. Don't forget to add your own stamp on your room too, some framed monochrome photographs can make your space a little more personal.
