We take a look at how designers will be using silk for Spring Summer 2015
Here at Silksleep we aren't just passionate about silk bedding but all things silk. With that in mind we wanted to take a look at what London Fashion Week Spring Summer 2015 had to offer for silk next year. Keep your eyes open for flora's, skirt suits and another season of sports chic looks.
Mulberry S/S 2015
Mulberry it seems have taken inspiration from Kew Gardens for their Spring Summer 2015 collection. Using embroidered and sequined cornflowers to place on delicate silk dresses and scattering oversized floral prints on silky knits.
Christopher Kane S/S 2015
Christopher Kane showcased silk suits adorned with cord, rope and coils creating a modern day skirt suit. He then presented us with silk dresses described by the man himself as "controlled explosion dresses". Kane based a lot of this collection on his drawings and sketches from his time at Saint Martins, pieces he never thought would work but clearly they have.
Issa S/S 2015
Issa the brand loved by the Duchess of Cambridge showcased an innovative take on Pop Art prints for their Spring Summer 2015 collection. Appliqueing hand painted organza flowers onto sheer iridescent silks, with softs peaches and raspberry hues. They also managed to create pleated silk skirts without a hint of stitching.
Matthew Williamson S/S 2015
Never one to shy away from using silk Matthew Williamson presented us with stunning silk wrap over blouses in citrus and French navy. Then along came the silk slip gowns and box pleat culottes showcasing the wonderfully summery climbing hibiscus print.
